OPH - Winter Activities

This week on the Parenting in Ottawa Facebook page, a Public Health Nurse will discuss how families can lower their risk of COVID-19 by practicing proper hand hygiene. They will also be discussing how to support your child’s mental health with information and community resources.

Check out to learn more, or to check out one of our other daily posts moderated by a public health nurse. Our Parenting in Ottawa Facebook page is a great community resource where you can ask questions and or learn about a variety of health topics.
Outdoor activities are good for both physical and mental health and usually carry a lower risk of COVID transmission than indoor activities.
The safest option is to choose activities that can be done with just your household contacts or, if you live alone, with one or two of your chosen social support persons. If you get together with others, choose individual sports that can be done with other people, but still allows for 2 metres (6 feet) of spacing. Check out the OPH Be COVID Wise Winter Activities resource for how to keep you and your family healthy while you enjoy winter activities.
